I've always been a huge fan of Donington Park and I probably always will be but it's fair to say that it's had it's problems. It never seems to have had quite the right people and quite the right money at the same time and it's become a little run-down. Don't let that put you off though; it's still a great circuit.
In 2017 it was taken over by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation and this may signal a resurgence in its popularity.
For the photographer it's not quite as easy as it was due to higher safety fences but the infield from the top of the Cramer Curves to the Old Hairpin is pretty good. You still cannot get all that close so, for bikes, you're going to need at least a 400mm.
